An exceptional population is an inclusive term that refers to those with behavioral, communication, intellectual, physical or multiple exceptionalities that would involve them needing special education or services. This could include disabilities, sensory impairments, or those who are intellectually gifted. The special help they are given at school is called exceptional student education (ESE) and includes special instruction to meet the unique needs of each child.

ACHIEVEMENTS
Mary Frances Haluska, MEd
“STEPs is an exceptional student service provider. The director is professional in working with her staff, parents, and school personnel. The on-site team providing services has the students at the heart of developing and communicating service delivery plans. Flexibility is part of their mantra. You are stepping in the right direction in contacting STEPs to provide your school special education services. I would highly recommend STEPs as an exceptional student service provider.”
Kris Johnson
“Special Educational services can be the greatest asset to a school if they are done correctly. Combine with that the joy of knowing that someone else is taking care of your students in a way that follows every law new and old and still remembers that students are the priority is what we get in STEP’s service. We currently have 1000 students in our district and our Special Education monitoring’s have been glowing. Their reputation with the Department of Education, with parents, with other schools is of constant professionalism and knowledge. We count ourselves lucky to be able to continue a relationship with this group of service providers.
Mark J. Stevenson, Ph.D.
“As a consulting psychologist, I come in contact with multiple special education providers. For the past several years I have enjoyed a wonderful working relationship with the independent contractors of STEPs. I am honored to work with a group so dedicated and thorough in their efforts to support the individual needs of students.”
Carl Grasso
“I have had the opportunity to work with a host of administrators and faculty members, in both public and private schools, as a former Director of Special Education in New York and as the current Executive Director of Education Support Services.
For the past several years I have had the pleasure of working with the independent contractors of STEPs who consistently exhibit a high degree of professionalism while providing an extraordinary level of quality services to the schools, parents and students they serve.
It is truly a pleasure to be affiliated with this team of professionals.”
